Pursuant to Florida Statute Chapter 501, persons who engage in sale, lease, or rental of consumer goods or services with a purchase price in excess of $25 which includes all interest, service charges, finance charges, postage, freight, insurance, and service or handling charges, whether under single or multiple contracts, made pursuant to an installment contract, a loan agreement, other evidence of indebtedness, or a cash transaction or other consumer credit transaction are required to obtain a Home Solicitation Sale Permit.
Refer to F.S. 501.022(1)(b) for a list of those individuals who are exempt or excluded from the permit requirement.
How To Apply For Your Home Solicitation Sale Permit
Visit our office, 101 Eslinger Way, Sanford, FL 32773.
All applicants must appear in person with the following:
- Valid Photo Identification, such as a driver’s license, passport, or photo identification.
- $76.00 cash or credit card. This fee is non-refundable.
We recommend that applicants read the statute prior to arrive to ensure requirements and qualifications are met.
When the application is completed, you will be sworn to the accuracy of the information you have provided.
- A picture will also be taken at this time for use once the permit is approved.
- You will be given a copy of your application and additional instructions to take to the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office. The Seminole County Sheriff’s Office offers fingerprinting by appointment only. Please note; the Sheriff’s Office charges a fee for this service which is noted in their instructions.
- Once received, The Clerk’s Office will notify you of the results of the fingerprint analysis by telephone or by U.S. mail. If your permit is approved, you may pick up the permit at the Clerk’s Office or it can be sent to you by certified mail.
