What Is Small Claims Court?

Small Claims Court is for cases involving claims for damages not exceeding $8,000.00.

When a Small Claims Case is filed, it is automatically set on a Pre-Trial Conference docket for the Court.  At this court date, the parties will be sent to mediation to see if the issue can be resolved that day.  If the case is not settled at mediation, it will be up to the Judge whether to set it for trial or how the case will proceed from there.

If you have any further questions, please contact the Clerk Office at 407-665-4300.
