Roles As Comptroller
By statute, the Clerk serves as the Comptroller for the County’s finances and Clerk to the Board of County Commissioners (BCC). As the Comptroller, the Clerk is responsible for maintaining the accounting and financial records of the County. The Clerk also invests available county funds, and prepares and publishes the County’s Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR).
The Comptroller is responsible for financial reporting, recording the financial transaction of the County, receiving revenues, and paying vendors and employees.

Awards and Accomplishments
The Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) consistently recognizes the Clerk and Comptroller’s Office for its excellence in financial reporting. Seminole County has received this recognition and honorable award each year since 1981 for the County’s Annual Comprehensive Financial Report.
Since 2018, the Clerk and Comptroller began publishing the Popular Annual Financial Report also referred to as the Citizens’ Financial Report and has been awarded the Outstanding Achievement in Popular Annual Financial Reporting Award since inception.
